“Continuo a compilar todo o tipo de provas que possam ajudar a compreender a origem e a variabilidade das espécies.”
Charles Darwin numa carta para J. S. Henslow, Novembro 1839.
Searching for an explanation for species’ evolution, Charles Darwin started his studies with pigeons as direct agents in artificial selection.
According to Darwin, if it is possible such variety from artificial selection then there might be a selection caused by environmental factors in the wild, known as Natural Selection.
Same specie’s organisms have some differences. There is a Natural Selection which will make the ones whose characteristics are more useful for that specific environment prevail while others will perish.
This project’s main purpose is testing natural selection on worms caused by birds. According to Darwin, there were used artificial selection processes during these tests.
